In the tradition of
Skeppshult, state of the art components
have been combined with sleek design inspiration and effective
industrial engineering to bring you the
Z Bike.
The architectural frame, designed
by industrial designer Björn Dahlström makes the Z Bike the
absolute pinnacle in design driven cycling. The sleek symmetry
of its silver frame makes it comfortable and as pleasing to the eye
as a modern sculpture. A matte powder coat paint finish emits
understated elegance. Features like a hand brake, bell,
integrated locking system are added and provide the exceptional
harmony of elegance and utility.
Equipped with a Shimano® gear system the Z bike gets you to your
destination with ease. The Nexus internally geared hub is
engineered with a heavy duty construction that assures a long life of
trouble free riding. The drum coaster brake system requires no
cable, just back pedal to brake. In addition, the Z Bike has a Shimano® brake lever offering a hand brake option as well. A
shift modulator provides smooth shifting action. A Look-in
Selle Royale® saddle delivers comfort and high performance.

| A FINE TRADITION
Skeppshult has been producing classic bicycles
in Sweden for nearly 100 years. It all began at the beginning
of the 20th century in the repair shop of the Samuelsson family
farm. Albert, the oldest son began building and selling
bicycles. These bicycles were the forerunner of what we
recognize today as the commuter bicycle with durable tires, fenders,
chain guard and a footbrake.
Thirty years later, in the 1940's the younger
brother Arvid took over and with his keen business skills grew the
business and moved it to its own location on Storgatan 78 where it
still operates today. Skeppshult, a name taken from the town
where the bicycles are produced, has held on to this tradition of
producing fine quality well designed classic and comfort bicycles.
The company has been awarded a royal warrant,
which is a distinction awarded by the King of Sweden to those
companies that
embody the standard of superior quality and workmanship associated
with fine Swedish design. Some other companies who share this
distinction are SAAB, Kosta Boda, and Brio to name a few.
Skeppshult has entered the US market in hopes
of encouraging more Americans to ride a bike. "We thought that
with this option, perhaps more Americans would enjoy the ride."
Nature, the most
popular model is the quintessential classic bicycle with its
Brooks leather saddle and durable Schwalbe tires. An
easy shift 5 gear system and duel brakes make this bike a pleasure
to ride. The upright seating position puts the rider in a
comfortable position to take in the scenery. A mesh wire basket
graces the ladies model . A spring loaded rear carrier makes this
a great commuting bicycle. It comes in great colors too.
Black, Green, Navy Blue, Bordeaux, and Vanilla.
Promenade our favorite comfort
bicycle is a gleaming example of great design. Sporting an
easy shift 3 gear system and duel brake system this model is really
fun to ride. The silver mesh basket and low sweep of the
ladies model make promenade an excellent choice for shopping.
